Join artist Liz Schreiber for a crop art happy hour as she leads a hands-on virtual workshop on making a mosaic made of seeds.
Learn the basics of Crop Art, a beloved Minnesota tradition. In this hands-on virtual class, we will discuss the history, process, and details of creating a seed mosaic popularized by the Minnesota State Fair. The instructor will create art with you over video. Follow along as we discuss where to buy seeds and how to create your own piece ready for entry to the 2021 State Fair.

Deadline: Please register by June 14th.
Your registration fee includes a materials packet, which will be mailed to you before class. In addition to the provided materials, you will need: scissors, Elmer’s glue, office tape, and an image to fit on your 7 1/2 x 7 1/2-inch board (we will provide the board). Your image should be simple, something with basic shapes, either your own artwork or a found image.
About the instructor:
Liz Schreiber has been entering the State Fair Crop Art competition for 16 years, won numerous ribbons and has taught multiple classes and workshops on the subject. Her commissioned work has been seen on publications such as The Growler, Edible Twin Cities and VitaMN magazine. Classes and workshops include ones held at the Walker, Marine Mills Folk School, Mpls public schools and more recently at Vevang Studios in NE mpls.
