Join us for our new walking tour in collaboration with the St. Louis Park Historical Society – “Skunk Hollow: The Story of a Swamp” – which shines a light on the history of industrial pollution in the city of St. Louis Park.
The walking tour follows the transformation of a region from land and water, to industrial suburb connected by rail, to thriving residential and commercial hub. More in-depth information is provided about the manufacturing practices that led to widespread groundwater contamination in the mid-20th century and the subsequent clean-up. This tour will focus on the southern portion of the former industrial site.
The group will meet near the SWLRT Station, 6830 Oxford St, St Louis Park, at 1:00 p.m., and will conclude by 2:30p.m. Please check back for updated information about the starting location for this tour.
