Join us for our new walking tour in collaboration with the St. Louis Park Historical Society – “Skunk Hollow: The Story of a Swamp” – which shines a light on the history of industrial pollution in the city of St. Louis Park.
The walking tour follows the transformation of a region from land and water, to industrial suburb connected by rail, to thriving residential and commercial hub. More in-depth information is provided about the manufacturing practices that led to widespread groundwater contamination in the mid-20th century and the subsequent clean-up. This tour will focus on the southern portion of the former industrial site.
The group will meet at the west end of the parking lot at the Louisiana Ave SWLRT Station, 6830 Oxford St, St Louis Park, at 5:00 p.m., and will conclude by 6:30p.m. Please check back for updated information about the starting location for this tour.
