Hennepin History Museum will be a participating venue in Doors Open Minneapolis 2026, a free public celebration that invites people to explore the buildings, spaces, and stories that shape a city's identity.  We will be open 10-5 on May 9th and 10th. 
 
Explore local history in a former mansion in the Washburn-Fair Oaks Historic District. Learn about the rich history of Hennepin County; examine the case of Eliza Winston, an enslaved woman who sought freedom in Minnesota in 1860; immerse yourself in puppetry as activism with In The Heart of The Beast Puppet Theatre's 1983 Circle of Water Circus; and more!
