Join us bright and early for coffee and an informative look back at Minnesota’s first team in the National Football League.
Author R.C. Christiansen, author of Mill City Scrum: The History of Minnesota’s First Team in the National Football League, will outline the rise of the first professional football team in our state and how the University of Minnesota’s winningest coach, Dr. Henry L. Williams, influenced the trajectory of a group of teenagers from south Minneapolis who found their way to the biggest professional football stages in the nation. Christiansen also includes the history of the Minneapolis Marines, who later were named the Minneapolis Red Jackets.
