In honor of the opening of Hennepin History Museum’s new exhibit Faraway Home: Tibetans in Minnesota, members of the local Tibetan Ü-Tsang Dance Group will perform in traditional costumes, accompanied by traditional instruments. The Ü-Tsang Dance Group represents Tibetan culture from the South-Central heartland province of Ü-Tsang and performs at rituals, traditional ceremonies, and special occasions. Ü-Tsang Dance Group has been in existence in Minnesota for 25 years, keeping Tibetan culture alive for themselves and new generations.
